College’s celebrates sod-cutting ceremony with Permanent Secretary, Founding Governors and Principal

This morning, the formal sod-cutting ceremony took place at the College to mark the commencement of the new build. Our guest of honour was Dr Mark Browne, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Education.

In addition to the current Board of Governors, we were joined by Founding Governors, Angela Morgan (Chair), Roisin Behan, John Keane, John McCombe and Kevin Quinn, as well as Founding Principal, Kevin Lambe. Shimna students were joined by the P7 class at All Children’s, escorted by Mr Beattie and Mr Houlahan. It was a joyous occasion, bringing together members of the Shimna community, past, present and future. More photographs of the event will follow in the coming days.
