A group of twenty-five GCSE German students are currently enjoying an end-of-year trip to the Rhineland. Based in the beautiful town of Boppard, they have taken a tour of the cultural landmarks of Cologne, taken a riverboat cruise featuring spectacular views of vineyards, castles and fortresses, and visited the town of Rüdesheim. Yesterday, the group went to the theme park Phantasialand. Alle hatten eine tolle Zeit! Before they start out on their jorney home, today’s itinerary includes the historic town of Koblenz and a tour of Burg Eltz Castle.

Our students have been learning about the legend of the Lorelei which has, apparently, inspired some of them to buy matching captain hats. They have also sampled the delicious local cuisine, visited the Lindt chocolate factory and, given the warm conditions, necessarily eaten a lot of ice cream.

A massive thank you to Ms Susay, Frau Olpe and Ms Tsarukyan for organising and leading this wonderful trip.
