Star performances from Shimna students at Ulster Schools’ Multi-Event Athletic Championships

Two girls from Shimna College competed in the Ulster Schools’ Multi-Event Championships, at The Mary Peters Track, where they had to participate in the 75m Hurdles, 800m, High Jump, Long Jump and Shot.

Eve Mc Namara performed to an excellent standard in the minor girls’ event achieving 11th place overall out of 37 athletes. This was an outstanding performance considering that Eve is also eligible to compete as a minor athlete next year.

Her best performances were in the 75m Hurdles where she was placed 5th, the 8oom where she was placed 6th and the High Jump and Long Jump where she was placed 7th.

Hania Dziubek also competed impressively in the multi – event and was placed 23rd overall. Her most notable performance being the high jump where she was placed 7th.
