Shimna’s Year 11 boys competed in the Irish Football Association tournament on Thursday. Following a hard fought draw against Belfast Boys Model School, the team moved up a gear with convincing victories against Strangford and Ballyclare. Victory in the semi-final paved the way for a final against Bangor Grammar. After the disappointment of falling just short last season, the team achieved their just reward with a 1-0 victory, winners’ medals and a place in the regional finals. Well done, lads.
We would also like to say congratulations to our year 8 & 9 boys who performed admirably and did the school proud at their first tournament.
