Academic Offer
The BTEC Sport programme is designed to provide specialist work related scenarios and experiences. The course consists of numerous units which cover a range of topics to be as broad as possible across the sporting industry. The Level 3 Subsdiary Diploma is a two year course, 100% coursework and is equivalent to one A level; worth a maximum of 140 UCAS points.

The course provides you with an understanding of the essential skills needed when looking to build a career in the sports sector or progress to further and higher education. You will gain an understanding in topics such as anatomy and physiology which cover the structure, function and how the body responds to exercise on the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory and energy systems. Other areas covered are fitness testing, analysing performances in team and individual sports, assessing risk in sport, coaching sports and we look deep into the current issues in sport.

Extra-Curricular offer
Students have worked with outside agencies, gaining a vast experience and knowledge and understanding with some gaining employment and recognised coaching qualifications.

Previously students have had the opportunity to work with local primary schools, the Army, governing bodies and universities.

In addition to the high quality education students receive, they gain the knowledge and skills to prepare them for higher education, but also employment. Ensuring that our students have the opportunity to develop their skills through regular practical work is something we pride ourselves on.
