Sun shines brightly on Shimna Sports Day
Forecasts of rain proved to be greatly exaggerated as we managed a whole day of sporting activity in balmy conditions. The morning was given over to track and field, with events across four year groups, followed by an afternoon of netball and football tournaments. It was great to see so many students getting involved across the day, with a number of outstanding performances. Thank you to Mr Dagen and Ms Doyle for organising yet another superb day of sporting activity. Credit

Masterful performance by Shimna golfers
Fifteen of our students took part in the inaugural Shimna Masters, held at Kilkeel Golf Club on Friday. The quality of the play matched the balmy conditions and the superbly prepared course. Rhys emerged as champion, closely followed by Jack and Max. The future of golf at Shimna is promising with so many talented players in our ranks. Thank you to Kilkeel Golf Club for their warm welcome.

The Lecale panel of 30 dwarfed the 13 boys of Shimna, though it was Shimna that started the brighter with Jamie on target at centre half-forward with a sharp point. What followed was a frenetic end to end game where both sides traded scores, though Trinity seemed to be taking their goals rather than points so they finished 8 points ahead at half time. At half time Tri

Students sail through fitness suite fundraiser
A fantastic effort from our students yesterday as they took on a treadmill fundraiser in support of Newcastle Lifeboat Service. The students clocked up an incredible 63 miles in our Fitness Suite; the equivalent of setting off from Kilkeel RNLI Lifeboat Station and travelling along the entire County Down coastline, past the lifeboat stations at Newcastle, Ardglass, Portaferry and Bangor, all the way to Donaghadee RNLI Lifeboat Station and beyond. Thank you to the Newcastle Li
