Students reach for the skies with aviation careers talk
On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome back former student and pilot Kate Lenny. Kate is now a First Officer with Ryanair and was able to share her experience with Sixth Form students. It was great to see Kate again and we thank her for giving up her time to provide advice to our students on careers in the aviation industry.

Sixth Form students gain places on QUB Senior Academy Programme
Congratulations to Year 13 students Nicole Wilson and Oliver Madison, who have earned places on the prestigious Queen’s University Belfast Senior Academy Programme. Nicole will follow the Anthropology and Archaeology pathway, while Oliver will join the Physics and Mathematics strand. Assistant Vice Principal Joanne Poland said: “We are very proud of Nicole and Oliver. Their hard work has truly paid off, and we wish them every success as they begin this fantastic opportunity.

Shimna sportsmen achieve great things across the water
Last weekend saw two Shimna students achieve sporting success in both England and Scotland. Year 12 student Jamie O’Flaherty finished second in the Nottingham Holme Open Men’s 5k race, shaving over half a minute off his personal best in a time of 17 minutes 35 seconds. Jamie was also placed first in the U20 category.
