The Shimna Story

This year, we are celebrating our thirtieth anniversary. Back in 1994, when times were very different, a group of courageous and determined parents took it upon themselves to challenge the status quo by setting up an integrated post-primary school in Newcastle.

Shimna started out at Murlough House with sixty students. Three decades later, the vision of our founders has been rewarded with an enrolment of almost 700 students and the construction of a new state-of-the-art school.

Over the past few months, we have reconnected with our founding parents. Their remarkable stories have been captured in this film called ‘The Shimna Story’
