Amnesty group sets out human rights agenda

Mr Archer writes: “In November, Year 14 students Ana and Miguel attended Amnesty’s national conference in Birmingham to discuss the implications of the change in voting age. This marked the launch of Amnesty’s International campaign “Use Your Voice”, encouraging young people to share their ideas for the positive change they want to see in their communities and beyond.

Our own Amnesty group has followed this up by canvassing the views of 200 Shimna students and members of the community about their human rights concerns. This has been turned into a poster setting out key aspirations, which has now been sent on to Amnesty International UK.”
