Chair of the Shimna Academy, Ms Doran ( by day, Head of English & MIA ), writes:

“I am grateful to our students who participated in the Shimna Integrated College summer film competition, embracing the theme of ‘Summer Stories’ with such enthusiasm and dedication. The entries showcased the students' hard work and creativity.

I am delighted to announce our first ever Golden Shimmie goes to Jessica Waddell, whose film offered a nostalgic perspective of the sights and smells of summer.

Runner-up, Lucy Boden, delivered an equally compelling showcase of what summer means for her. Both films stood out for their high production values, demonstrating skill and vision.

Well done to Jessica and Lucy, both of whom have a bright future ahead of them in film-making!”
