Mr Scott writes: “Our Bronze Award participants were put through their paces this month with two action-packed days of expedition training!
Day 1 focused on essential skills - first aid, emergency procedures, and basic navigation - all set against the beautiful backdrop of Donard Forest.
Day 2 saw four groups put their training to the test, navigating their way to Tollymore for a well-earned cooked lunch and plenty of craic. A standout moment (and a Bronze Award first!) came courtesy of Lucy, Mollie, and Maura, who raised the bar by cooking fillet steaks on their trangia - now that’s expedition luxury!
Each group successfully navigated back to school, on time and without getting lost - a brilliant achievement and a great sign of things to come as they look ahead to completing their expedition section later in 2025.
Make no mis-steak - a great day was had by all!”
A huge thanks to Mr Scott, Mr Mayers, Mr Allen, Miss Lindsay, Mr Hanna, and Mr Scott for making it all possible.
