Curtain falls on Year 14’s last day

On a day full of laughter, friendship, shirt-signing, hugs, cake and more than a few tears, our wonderful Year 14 finished school today.

Although there is still the last act of examinations to come, they can look back with pride on their time and achievements at Shimna. They are a genuinely lovely and mutually supportive year group – the Shimna ethos personified. They leave behind so many fond and happy memories, borne out in the numerus warm tributes paid by staff at lunchtime.

Fittingly for such a talented year group, the farewell included a musical number, a collaboration between Cameron Mayhew and Ria Maguire, treating us to an awesome rendition of the iconic Back to Black.

Year 14, we wish you all the very best of luck over the coming weeks. Keep eating the elephant!
