Re: Election of Parent Governor

Shimna Integrated College was founded by parents and their representation on the Board of Governors is central to our structure and ethos.

One place is now vacant on the Board of Governors for a parent governor, and all interested parents/guardians are welcome to apply. We particularly welcome those from a Protestant/Other community, from the global majority and those with skills and experience in Law, Human Resources, Fundraising and Business Management.

All categories of governor fulfil the same role on the Board of Governors. A parent governor can serve for up to one four-year term. The person nominated must be a parent/guardian of children attending Shimna and must not be employed by the college.

Principal, Steve Pagan and Secretary to the Board of Governors, Danella Goodman are happy to help answer any questions you may have regarding the role and responsibilities of a Parent Governor.

Nominations should be returned for the attention of Danella Goodman at the college by 4.00pm on Monday 21 February 2022. Please include a completed pen portrait and nomination slip found here.
