Yesterday, Year 13 students started a three-day ‘Looking Ahead’ programme of activities focused on planning for the future. In the afternoon session they heard an inspiring and personal story of courage and endeavour from Martin Tierney, Director of Seating Matters. It started with a telephone call Martin received from the other side of the world one morning in 2014. Over the next four years it lead to an extraordinary series of events, culminating in the rescue of a refugee family saving life-threatening danger. Martin first shared his story at a conference of school principals last November and yesterday was the first occasion he has shared it with a student audience.
