Ms Doyle: “A very competitive game today, but unfortunately Strathearn secured the win and will continue in the Cup Competition. Shimna started well scoring first, but by the third quarter Strathearn's strength in depth, with a number of U -17 NI players, helped them establish a 7-point lead, which was difficult to beat. Star players for Shimna were; Mila Astruc-Kidd, who playing as centre and assisted by Parisa Susay-Quinn fed the ball to shooters Helen Barber, Hope Sherlock and Lucy McGrady.

The defence was led by Evie Gorman, who worked hard to limit the Strathearn attack. She was capably assisted by Niamh Watson, Mikaela Hanna, Eve Mc Namara and Sophie Mayers. The girls gained great experience in this match, and are looking forward to playing St. Ronan's next week in the League.”
