More athletics success at Down Championships

Another great day at the Down Championships today, this time for our junior athletes. The following have qualified for the Ulster’s next week:

• Eve, first in the junior girls’ long jump

• Sophie, second in the minor girls’ shot

• Mila, third in the junior girls’ discuss

• Emma, third in the mini girls’ shot

• Michael, third in the junior boys’ javelin

• and Parisa, third in the junior girls’ 800m

Other notable performances came from Lucy ( fourth, junior girls’ shot ), Abigail ( fifth, junior girls’ discuss ), Zoe ( fifth, mini girls 100m ) and Michelle ( sixth, mini girls’ shot )

It turned out to be a long day but thank you to the students and staff for giving their best efforts.
