We are delighted to be one of only 30 schools selected to design a small Elmer for the NI Hospice Elmer Trail Fundraiser 2022. Our Elmer design features Slieve Donard mountain, Murlough nature reserve, St John's Point lighthouse, sandcastles on Newcastle beach, sailing boats just beyond the harbour, the rare Marsh Fritillary butterflies found at Murlough, the starfish sculpture by Shimna parent Alan Burke, an unconventional rainstorm of ice creams and doughnuts inspired by surrealist painter Rene Magritte, all topped off with a magnificent rainbow when the rain stops and the sun comes out!
Our Elmer is ready to join the rest of the herd on the sculpture trail. All we need is pachydermatous name and this is where we would like your help. If you can think of a name to sum up our creation, something that stands out from the crowd.
A prize will be awarded for the winning suggestion.
