Netball teams demonstrate emerging talent

In the week before the mid-term break, our younger netball teams gained valuable experience in a flurry of tournaments. Our Intermediate Girls Team played very competitively in the regional netball blitz at Assumption GS. Playing Goal Defence, captain Emily Allister encouraged her team who responded with some very pleasing passages of play. Katelynn Mc Clelland, Centre, and Helen Barbour, Goal Attack, played superbly and demonstrated why they have been selected for the NI U15 South Eastern Development Squad. All of our players are a year young and can play in this age group next year.

Meanwhile, our Minor Netball Team tied with Down High in first place at the regional netball blitz. The girls played with great determination and spirit, with key performances from Mila Astruc-Kidd, Parisa Susay-Quinn, Hope Sherlock, Lucy Mc Grady and Lucy Shiells. Finally, our Junior Netball Team came second in the recent regional netball blitz. They will now proceed to play in Division 2 in the N.I. League. The girls played very competitively with GA Helen Barbour instrumental in attack and Evie Gorman solid in defence.
