Outstanding students honoured on evenings to celebrate

On Tuesday and Wednesday evening, we celebrated the achievements of Shimna students over the past year. As usual, our annual celebrations were wonderful events, full of stories, music, poetry, plenty of laughter and a few tears.

It was our pleasure to present a number of special awards for exceptional achievement.

Baroness Blood Award for Community Activism

• Senior: Zara – for fundraising on behalf of the Regional NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit in Belfast

• Junior: Charlie - for fundraising on behalf of the 1st Newcastle Scouts
