Politics students put learning into practice with Stormont visit

Mrs Higgins writes: “On Monday the Year 13 Politics students visited Stormont. They toured the Parliament Building, heard MLAs make a range of Members’ Statements and learned about the work of committees.

Students also took part in a Q&A with three of our local MLAs, Diane Forsythe, Andrew McMurray and Colin McGrath. Discussion topics included leisure facilities in Newcastle, NHS waiting lists and the recent budget.

Our students were commended for their positive engagement and ability to put their learning into practice.”
