St Mary’s Derry 3-3 Shimna 2-3
A heartbreaking end to a fantastic campaign as our U14 girls narrowly missed out on an Ulster Final after an incredible contest against St Mary’s in Derry last Friday. Both teams delivered what can only be described as a game of the season, going point for point right down to the very last kick. Captain Ellie Sloan led from the front, ensuring the team was ready for action following a three-hour bus coach journey.
Special mention to Danielle Trimble and Eva McAllister, who shared goalkeeping duties and put in great performances. The team showed immense determination throughout, with Evie Sloan and Isabella Milligan earning Player of the Match awards from St Mary’s coaches and the referee respectively.
Mr Milligan writes: “While it’s not the ending we had hoped for, we couldn’t be prouder of this group of players. A well-earned rest now, and we’ll go again next year.”
