Shimna athletes qualify for All-Irelands

Congratulations to Eve McNamara and Aoife Grant who have today qualified for the All-Ireland Athletics Championships. Eve won the Junior Girls Long Jump with a PB of 5.04 m. She was  also second in the Junior Girls 75 m Hurdles. Aoife came third in the Junior Girls 1200m Walk.

Other Shimna students competing today were Parisa Susay-Quinn, who finished 6th in the Junior Girls 800m. Ronan Grant came 6th in the Junior Boys' Hammer and Mila Astruc-Kidd 7th in the Junior Girls' Discus. Sophie Mayers and Michael Murray also performed admirably, narrowly missing out in the finals of Minor Girls Shot and Junior Boys' Javelin.
