Great to see our EcoClub making such good use of our new greenhouse, now that the structure is finally complete and sealed.
Before the break, club members met over break times for pumpkin carving the week before Halloween. Planting has now begun, using a range of plants which have been either donated or foraged. This includes the pumpkins seeds from this year’s carving, as well as scotch pine, acorn and chestnut trees. Winter bulbs have also been potted, which the club intend to sell.
On Friday there was an exciting development, with a session spent digging for worms for our new womery. Club members will be able to observe the production of vermicast, which we hope to use for fertiliser compost.
EcoClub meets after school on Fridays. There’s a great programme of activities lined up in the run-up to Christmas. Students from all year groups welcome.
