Shimna footballers visit capital of the beautiful game
Thirty Shimna students travelled to the city of Liverpool last weekend for three high-intensity days of footballing activities, including:
Matches against Sporting Club Merseyside and Calday Grammar School
A fantastic coaching session with Neil and Jamie Harris from Mike Phelan Coaching, learning from two top coaches who work with Liverpool and Manchester United academies
Watching Bolton Wanderers secure a dramatic last-minute victory over Cardiff City
A guided tour of Anfield, soaking up the history and atmosphere of one of football's most iconic stadiums ( Mr Pagan adds… ‘one of?’ surely ‘The most iconic…’ )
and pizza and bowling evenings
The trip was packed with unforgettable moments and memories to last a lifetime. An unplanned extra night away turned out to be a bonus. As one of our student summed it up: "The longer the better!"
