The Intermediate team made a successful start to the new season yesterday, defeating Victoria College 22 goals to 11. They will now continue in the Cup section of the competition. The following students played particularly well: Mila Astruc-Kidd, playing as centre provided the attacking players Parisa Susay-Quinn, Helen Barbour and Hope Sherlock with plenty of goal scoring opportunities. The defence of Eve McNamara, Sophie Mayers, Evie Gorman and Mikaela Hanna defended valiantly, preventing Victoria College from scoring.

The Minor team had also a good start to their season and played with great spirit. Unfortunately, on this occasion they conceded defeat to a stronger Friends School Lisburn. Star players for Shimna were Zoe Astruc-Kidd, who provided her attacking players, Isabella Mayers and Amy Baker, with goal scoring opportunities. The defence of Michelle Makoni, Emma Cunningham and Lana McNerlin, led by Isabella Sloan, played with great effort and commitment. This game will provide a building block to the next Plate section of the competition.
