Shimna runners warm up for cross-country season

On Monday, Shimna runners gained some valuable experience ahead of the Down Schools’ Cross-Country Championships in January. Competing against St. Malachy’s HS and Lismore Comprehensive, stand-out performances from the Shimna team included

• Ellie winning the Year 8 girls’ race, with Abby 8^th, Eirin 9^th and Molly 10^th

• In the Year 8 boys’ race, Darragh finishing 9^th

• In the Year 9 girls’ race, Talia and Sophia coming 6^th and 8^th respectively

• Jamie winning the Year 9 boys’ race, with Ryan runner-up and Finn 9^th 

• Ester finishing 3^rd and Aoife 4^th in the Year 10 girls’ race

• Daniel coming 10^th in the boys’ race
