Saoirse off to Oxford Summer School

Saoirse Cassidy Dawson has been awarded a place on a prestigious Summer School at Oxford University in July. Funded by the Sutton Trust, the course will give her opportunity to participate in taster sessions for her chosen subject, Oriental Studies. Saoirse is currently studying A Levels in Spanish, Philosophy and Ethics and English Literature.

Saoirse will also take part in a range of enrichment activities, as well as the opportunity to meet with undergraduates and teaching staff. She will also receive ongoing UCAS support after completing the summer school. On receiving the news, Saoirse said:

"I'm really looking forward to working with such an amazing university as Oxford. I have been interested in languages for as long as I can remember, so it will be really interesting to study the origins of ancient languages alongside oriental philosophy and history. It will be the experience of a lifetime and I can't wait.”

Competition for places is fierce so credit to Saoirse for her excellent application.
