Shimna student qualifies for final of Rotary Ireland Competition

Well done to Year 13 student Evie who has been selected to represent Shimna in the Rotary Ireland Youth Leadership Development Competition 2026/27.

After completing an application form and taking part in an interview with members of the Newry Rotary Club, Evie was chosen as our school representative and will now progress to the Newry Final. The winner will advance to the Zone Final, with the opportunity to secure a place on a leadership and educational trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

This achievement is a tribute to Evie’s leadership potential, confidence and interest in current affairs. Thank you to Joe and Paddy from Newry Rotary Club for promoting this valuable opportunity for our young people.
