Shimna students break College’s GCSE record

Congratulations to our Year 12 students on their record-breaking results. As a year group, they have achieved the best results at both five and seven A*-C grade measures in our College’s history.
Behind the statistics, there were so many positive stories. It was heart-warming to see our students celebrating with their families and staff in the Assembly Hall. All in all, a lot of hard work and commitment were deservedly rewarded today, with a tribute from BBC’s Stephen Nolan an added bonus!
Of course, a better measure of results day is whether our students are heading in the right direction. Most are now joining our Sixth Form and we look forward to welcoming you all at next Friday’s induction.
For those students moving on to pastures new, it was great to see so many of you achieving the grades to take you on your next challenge, whether it be Further Education, an apprenticeship or employment. Wherever you are heading, you go with our very best wishes. You will always be Shimna students.
