Shimna students shine on Sixth Form Results Day

Today, we are celebrating the outstanding achievements of our Sixth Form students.
Shimna continues to perform at a very high level across A Level and BTEC, with 35.4% of the grades awarded at A* and A, comfortably above the Northern Ireland average of 30.7%.
Our outgoing Year 14 students will be heading off to a variety of destinations in September, including Cambridge, Queen’s Belfast, Ulster, Trinity, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, London, the Open University - and even New York! A growing number are also moving on to Higher Level Apprenticeships, with some fantastic placements already secured.
A lot of hard work and commitment have been rewarded today and it was wonderful to share the occasion with our students and their families. Thank you to the Shimna staff who invariably go above and beyond, enabling our students to flourish.
We wish our outgoing Year 14 the very best of luck for the future. We are incredibly proud of you. You have been a credit to Shimna and, no doubt, will go on to achieve even greater things.
