Shimna students start planning for the future

Our Year 13 students attended the Lecale Careers Fair at Down Leisure Centre last week. The event, hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership, provided students with an opportunity to explore future available pathway options, from continuing on to higher education, joining an apprenticeship scheme or progressing directly into employment.

Overall, over a thousand students from twelve local schools joined the event which featured over 45 exhibitors showcasing higher education courses, employment opportunities and other pathways. Students had the opportunity to speak directly to universities, businesses and employers to help make informed choices about their future plans.
