Just landed home this afternoon, a group of twenty-three students and four staff spent three days in Rome on a cultural trip, taking in the sites, sounds and food of the Eternal City. The packed itinerary included a tour of St Peter’s Basilica, the Colosseum and Palatine Hill, an Italian food class and a visit to the Opera. There was even a celebrity sighting of Zendaya and Tom Holland. Alas, Mr Keenan was unavailable to sign autographs for them.
The Shimna group was blessed with some of our finest musical talent, showcased on the first night with an impromptu performance on the Spanish Steps, as you can witness for yourself here.
A huge thank you to Mrs Fitzpatrick, Ms Murphy, Mrs McClean and Mr Keenan for organising and leading such a wonderful trip at the end of a busy school year. Best not tell them the weather was better in Newcastle.
