Yesterday, seven representatives from our Student Environment Group attended an event organised by Eco UNESCO event at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, Oxford Island.

The Young Environmentalist Award (YEA) is an all-Ireland programme that recognises young people who take environmental action. Our students presented the projects they are working on in school.

Excitement and anticipation were high, as the group presented their projects, outcomes and future plans to the panel of judges.

Well done to everyone involved.  We look forward to hearing the outcome.

The Shimna group is called the Nature Network. They meet every Thursday at break time to discuss environmental issues, look for solutions and develop school projects.
