We’re half way through the Looking Ahead programme, three days of careers talks and Higher Education activities.

A massive thank you to our guest speakers who generously shared their time, insights and journeys with our Year 11 and 13 students over the past couple of days. From education and entrepreneurship to finance, public service, and beyond, each speaker shared their insights into a wide range of professions and careers.

On Tuesday, we heard from:

Derek Bailey on a life in education and how to become a teacher

Pamela Young from Ulster Bank on staying safe from fraud and scams

Eva Maxwell from Deli Lites on growing a global food brand

Jack McCartan on life in global finance at Citi Bank

Angela Morgan on careers in the Civil Service

Julie Bilchak on working in animal health and pharmaceuticals in Norbrook

John Nellis (live from an airport!) on becoming a YouTuber with 7.18M subscribers

Brendan McDowell on building up BPerfect into a global brand

Holly Plater from Oxford University on the admissions process for elite institutions

Plenty more has been happening today, with a full programme tomorrow as well. It’s been great to see so much positive interaction in the sessions
