Stunning success for Shimna boys in Table Tennis Championship

Congratulations to Darragh Scannell and Reece Maguire who represented Shimna at the South-East Post-Primary Schools Table Tennis Tournament.

The day started with group games, with Reece qualifying for the main tournament and Darragh the Shield competition.

Darragh played brilliantly to finish runner up in the Shield, while Reece went one better by winning his section outright. He is now the Under-14 boys South-East Post-Primary Schools champion.

The boys’ achievement is all the more remarkable as they are in Year 8 and still have two years left in this age group. They are blazing a trail at Shimna and, with the opening of our new school not far away now, we will be in a position to significantly develop the sport to an even higher level.
