‘Summer Stories’ Film Competition launched

Today, we are launching our first ever College film competition. We invite budding student filmmakers to show off their creative abilities by making a short film over the summer break.
If you would like to take part, the theme of your film should be ‘Summer Stories’. You can work independently or with fellow students. There will a prize of £100 for the winning film.
Specifications:
Films must be no longer than 3 minutes, excluding titles and credits, and must connect to the ‘Summer Stories’ theme in some way
You have free choice of genre: horror, rom-com, sci-fi, fantasy, documentary, animation or experimental
Technical Requirements:
Films must be submitted in .MOV format
Films can be shot using any device (e.g., smartphones, cameras, tablets)
Editing software, such as CapCut, Clipchamp etc. is recommended
Submission:
Deadline for entries: 3 September 2025

If we have a sufficient number of entries, we will hold a special viewing event early next term.
Ultimately, our aim is to replace Cannes as the premier film festival by the sea. Some way to go on that yet.
