U14 Gaelic footballers in resounding victory

Shimna's U14 Gaelic football panel geared up for their Ulster Schools campaign with a game against St Columba's Portaferry.

Shimna were quick out of the traps, racing into a 3-goal lead after two minutes, with the midfield duo of Darragh and Tom proving particularly troublesome for the St Columba's team. The forward line of Caolan, Gerald, James, Jack, Dara and Nathan were lively and added to the tally for Shimna throughout the match.

At the other end Ollie, Darragh, Max, Micheal, Fahlin, Kieran and Oran were very efficient in repelling the St Columba's attacks, as well as creating attacks at the other end.

In the second half Shimna were able to make some changes. Ronan, Seb, Conor, Elliot and Alex all came on and did very well, showing that there is good competition for places in the panel. In total we had 11 players that scored today. The final score was 11-9 to 1-3. Well done to the lads!

Many thanks to Portaferry GAC for the use of their pitch.
