Mr McKibbin writes: “On Tuesday, Shimna girls part in the Ulster Under-16 Blitz. The first game against St Patrick’s Academy Lisburn started well, with early scores coming from Abigail Turley, Isabella Milligan and Evie Sloan. Maintaining a high level of intensity and strong work rate, we led by 10 points at half time. With the defence remaining solid, we controlled the second half and secured a comfortable victory.

Up against a very strong St Colm’s High School team in the second match, an equally strong work rate took us into half time with a one-point advantage. Pleasingly, we again held on to secure victory.

Well done to our girls on this very promising start to the season. They now progress to the quarter final. Particular credit to our star players, Maddie McDonald, Isabella Milligan, Evie Sloan and Abigail Turley
