Year 10 students explore online security with Cyberfirst

Yesterday, our Year 10 students took part in an ICT Day hosted by CyberFirst. All students were able to take part in 4 interactive workshops and gain a valuable insight into Cyber Security in various real-life settings. The workshops included PSNI Cyber Escape Rooms, CyberFirst Enigma challenges, Mbots and coding, as well as talks on AI, and its influence in the industry. Shimna recently gained the CyberFirst School Silver Certificate, recognising the school’s growing commitment to cyber education and digital safety, and we were delighted to host this fantastic event in the school.

Mr Magee said: “I was delighted with the quality of the sessions. Thanks all the facilitators for making it such an enjoyable day for our students. The students were really engaged, and it also gave them all a real insight into some of the career opportunities in the industry. We are now hoping this will become an annual event and look forward to working with CyberFirst more in the future.”
