Year 9 students Leon Maguire, Kieran McLaughlin, Ruairi Smyth, Caelan Blackam, Coehan Murphy McKibben and Alfie Sproule had a blast at the QUB Junior Sports Academy programme. Over a jam-packed three days they won the mini world cup tournament playing for Brazil and we had runners-up playing for Argentina. They participated in mini challenges, won quizzes and on top of this they enjoyed a guided tour of the university and met undergraduates as well as students from other schools. On the final day they enjoyed a computer coding session and made their own fitbit. The session ended with a Dragons Den Pitch to faculty staff, which was led brilliantly by Ruairi. All the boys did themselves and Shimna proud. Kieran McLaughlin won All Round Player and was awarded a mini programmable robot.
