Year 14 student Ciara enjoyed a great adventure on the high seas this summer, taking part in the world renowned Tall Ships race. She completed the first leg of the race on TS Royalist, sailing from Le Havre to Dunkirk, finishing second overall out of 47 ships. Her crew was given the best parade award, commended for their team spirit and morale. The Skiffie World Championships took place in July off the coast of Stranraer. In total, 78 clubs from across the world took part, with crews from Africa, Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, the Netherlands and the United States. The championships, which took place over a week, proved to be a global celebration of sport and friendship.
