GCSE students Springboard to the future
Earlier today, our Year 11 GCSE Food & Nutrition students attended a Hospitality Roadshow,organised by Springboard NI at the Slieve Donard Hotel. It was a great opportunity to explore the many and varied career opportunities across the sector. Sixth Form students raise funds for local charity
Thanks to our Sixth Form Charity Leaders, Orla and Maria, pictured here with fellow student Faye and Assistant Vice-Principal Joanne Poland, presented a cheque to Deborah Boden from the local charity MyMy. The funds were raised through a recent Sixth Form non-uniform day, with the proceeds donated to a worthy local cause. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and for making a positive contribution to the local community.

Outstanding double in All-Irelands by top Shimna athlete
Congratulations to Year 12 student Kari for two outstanding performances last weekend. Kari finished twelfth in the All-Ireland Schools’ Cross-Country Championships on Saturday and then going on to finish sixth in the All-Ireland U-20 Indoor 1500m Championships the very next day. Overall, a truly exceptional weekend’s work from one of Shimna’s greatest ever athletes.
