Gordon Wilson Lecture - Thursday 2 October - Sir Howard Morrison

Students, parents and carers, staff and friends of Shimna are invited to attend the Gordon Wilson Lecture, an annual event held in honour of the celebrated peace campaigner and supporter of the College in its early days.

 

This year’s speaker is Sir Howard Morrison KC, a former UK Judge at the International Criminal Court where he served as President of the Appeals Division.  Prior to that he was the UK Judge at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, a UK Circuit Judge and defence counsel in Balkan and Rwandan international criminal trials.

 

Sir Howard is a visiting Professor of Law at Leicester, Warwick and Northumbria Universities and a Senior Fellow of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at Cambridge University. He is currently the President of the Appeals Court of the British Indian Ocean Territories. Sir Howard also teaches counter-terrorism judges and lawyers in Iraq.

 

The title of Sir Howard’s talk will be ‘The International Rule of Law in a Changing World Order"
