Shimna girls shine brightly in special event at the Slieve Donard

Mrs Caulfield writes:

Today, we had the privilege and pleasure of celebrating the achievements of twenty brilliant students in the wonderful setting of the Slieve Donard Hotel. The event recognised the Year 13 girls who have now completed the first year of the ‘Your Time to Shine’ female empowerment and leadership programme.

We were delighted to host Junior Ministers Pam Cameron and Aisling Reilly and thank them for their support. Their attendance was a demonstrable example of power-sharing in practice. With inspiring female entrepreneurs, family, staff, and our founding Chair of Governors in attendance, it was a truly memorable event.

A massive thank you to Catherine Murnin of the Wellbeing Pathway for bringing this exciting programme to Shimna and to all the mentors who have supported our students each month. We are grateful too to Jane McCooey, Mairead Mackle and Patrick Kielty for sending inspirational video messages.

We are very proud of these incredible and inspiring girls. They are a source of hope for a brighter future. They are destined to achieve great things.”
