Shimna student raises funds for RVH Neo-natal Unit

Last week, Year 12 student Zara Lyons handed over a cheque for £2,410 to the Neonatal Unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. Over the month of September, Zara walked 18 miles while her mother Stella swam the equivalent distance to raise funds and awareness of the Unit’s work.

This was the latest in a long line of tremendous fund-raising efforts by the Lyons family, undertaken in memory of her late brothers Zack & Cody Lyons to mark what would have been their upcoming 18th birthdays. The Lyons family has raised almost £50,000 over the years through different activities – an astonishing effort on their part.
