Year 13 student embarks on screenwriting journey

This week, Year 13 student Maebh Fleming has taken the first steps towards a screenwriting career. Maebh has been on course at ScreenWorks, a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Department of Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and delivered by Into Film. Designed to ignite the aspirations of young people aged 14-19 across Northern Ireland, ScreenWorks provides valuable career opportunities and the opportunity to learn about the magic behind the screen.

Maebh writes: “I applied for the screenwriting and story development course at Screenworks because I’m interested in pursuing this as a career. I knew relatively little about the industry at the beginning of the week or much about the process of properly developing ideas into a story. After the three days of hard work, brainstorming, and collaboration, I feel much more confident in my abilities and have even made new friends. It's opened my eyes to new possibilities and opportunities that will be helpful in starting a career in screenwriting.”
