Well done to Kari, who represented Shimna Integrated College and Ulster at the Tailteann Irish Schools Inter-provincial Athletics Championships, held in Carlow over the weekend. In a very competitive intermediate girls 1500m, Kari finished in a highly impressive sixth place. This is another outstanding achievement for Kari, all the more so as she had only just completed her GCSEs.

Four Shimna year 11 GCSE German students have been awarded scholarships worth 4000 euro each to participate in a Goethe Institut German Summer Camp this August. Seren, Ben, Hania and Viktor will be spending three weeks in Benediktbeuern about 45 minutes from Munich in Southern Germany. The students are very keen Germanists, and each wrote a detailed application in German outlining why they feel they should be awarded a place which was supported by Ms Susay and Susi Olpe our
