Shimna runner qualifies for national development squad
Congratulations to Year 12 student Kari who finished 7th in The All-Ireland Cross Country Championships at the weekend. She now qualifies for the Irish development squad. at the Celtic International Championships. Kari has a long and distinguished record of exceptional performances at this level and she fully deserves this recognition.

Netball teams enjoy busy week of competition
On Wednesday, our Senior Girls played very competitively in their Blitz, defeating Grosvenor G.S. but narrowly losing out to Down High and Sullivan G.S. This was an encouraging start to our netball season and our new players, Megan, Rose, Ciara, Abigail and Zara, are a great asset to the Shimna Netball Club.The Minor girls also had a positive start, winning against St. Mary’s Newry and Down High, drawing with St. Mark’s and losing to St. Malachy’s. Year 8 student scoops Lions International Peace Poster prize
