Shimna students qualify for the Ulster Cross Country Championships

Well done to the team of Shimna runners who competed in the Down Cross-Country Championships on Thursday. Competing in very challenging weather condition at the Bishops Court Racetrack in Downpatrick, our students did us proud.

Particular congratulations go to the three Shimna runners who have qualified for the Ulster Championships in Mallusk: Jamie Magee (Year 9), Jamie O’Flaherty (Year 12) and, second in the senior race, Kari Foster (Year 13). Year 8 student Ellie Moore also ran very well, narrowly missing out on qualification.

This weekend, Kari heads off to Portugal to represent Willowfield Harriers in the European Club Cross Country Championships. Best of luck, Kari!
