U14 Girls qualify for Futsal Finals

Earlier today, our U14 footballers took part in the Integrated Secondary Schools Futsal Cup Tournament, held in the Shankill Leisure Centre. This version of the beautiful game demands high levels of skill and fitness, which both of our boys and girls teams demonstrated across five matches each.

Our boys took a little time to adjust to the fast pace of the indoor hall but, once they settled, they delivered some brilliant football. Goals from Jamie Magee, Ryan McCullough and Flynn McGreevy kept spirits high throughout the group stages but they narrowly missed out on qualifying for next week’s finals.

However, our girls will be there. Having made a flying start to the group with three quick goals, they went on to win four of their five games, qualifying comfortably. Special mention goes to goalie Kacie Trimble for her superb shot‑stopping and lightning‑quick reflexes and midfielder Isabella Milligan for her silky skills and composure.

Shimna’s top scorers were Katie Shiells, Isabella Milligan, Jake Ellis, Flynn McGreevy, Ryan McCullough, Jamie Magee and Darragh Scannell.

Well done to all of our players. They did us proud today.
