Yesterday, we were delighted to present a cheque for over £600 to Emma Highes from Evora Hospice. The money was raised over two days before half term, through the KS3 bench-ball tournament and our World Book Day celebration. Today marked a historic occasion, with the first competitive school match at our new Donard Park ground, a junior girls’ football match. It was a tremendous debut, with a 6-0 victory over a spirited Blackwater team. Despite being on the losing end, the girls gained great experience and really enjoyed the matches. A massive thanks to Mourne Basketball Club for a new extra-curricular club. We are hoping to play our first competitive fixture against a local school before the end of term. Once we acquire our new Sports Hall in January, we hope to be in a position to offer further opportunities to other year groups.

Congratulations to Darragh Scannell and Reece Maguire who represented Shimna at the South-East Post-Primary Schools Table Tennis Tournament. The day started with group games, with Reece qualifying for the main tournament and Darragh the Shield competition.
